Contradiction is defined as:

  1. the act of contradicting; gainsaying or opposition.
  2. assertion of the contrary or opposite; denial.
  3. a statement or proposition that contradicts or denies another or itself and is logically incongruous.
  4. direct opposition between things compared; inconsistency.
  5. a contradictory act, fact, etc.

So many ignorant peeps believe the bible is full of contradictions, even though it states that those in whom it has been given to understand will indeed understand but to those outside, yes if you are a non-believer, fake-believer, make-believer, or stuck in the valley of indecision, this scripture is talking about you. The God detached individual cannot understand His language, no more than if you were non-communicative towards your neighbor could you then say that you could understand them.

Matt 13:11 - 11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

Ok so also note the order of the conversation that this message will take insofar as the book of Mathew. First Jesus addressed the question, can you teach us how to pray. Then He told them what appears to many even in the house of a God a contradiction which is related to food, and more specifically to bread.

My proposal will be to untie the theological knot and to suggest what I believe is a more accurate way to go about praying for your daily bread. I did include the whole prayer instruction but did so because I wanted to. Ha, here we go:

Matt 6:9-13 - 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
 Hallowed be Your name.
 10 Your kingdom come.
 Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
 As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
