Oh boy that is hitting the non-tribbers right upside the head. Flee from the wrath which is unleashed during the 7-yr tribulation.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 - 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 5:9 - 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 - 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Saved from wrath doesn’t mean we have to go through wrath in order to get saved form wrath, and this is what would happen if there were no rapture. Jesus went through the wrath of God and became our sin that we didn’t have to:

  Romans 3:25: States that God put Jesus forward as a propitiation (or sacrifice of atonement) by His blood, demonstrating His righteousness.

  2 Corinthians 5:21: Explains that God made Jesus, who had no sin, to be "sin for us" so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

  Galatians 3:13: States that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us

Wow this is not what I intended to be a part of this message but there it is.

So, what does the following scripture imply to us or for us:

Matt 3:7 - 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Let’s find out why John the baptizer asked this question, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”:

Originally spoken by John the Baptist in Matthew 3:7 (and similarly by Jesus in Matthew 12:34 and Matthew 23:33), this harsh phrase in the original Greek (γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν, gennēmata echidnōn) translates literally to "offspring of vipers." It was a stinging metaphor for hypocritical religious leaders, warning that their poisonous, malicious teachings would result in divine judgment.

Hello, this is Kenya Podcast Preacher. Welcome back to my podcast Deep Waters. This podcast is brought to you by Applied Strengths Ministry, where we believe working together on our strengths as the effect of working out the will and calling of God and into our lives. Thanks for joining me. Let's open up in prayer. Blessed be the God and Father of your Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heaven and places in Christ. Just as he chose you and him before the foundation of the world, that you should be holy and without blame before him in love, having predestined you to adopt him as your son or daughter by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, which he purposed in himself, to the praise of the glory of his grace, and which he made you accepted in the beloved. In him ye have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace, which he made provided towards you in all wisdom and prudence, have he made known to you the mystery of his will, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, he may gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth in him. I ask that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, the knowledge of the mystery of him, and to the deepest knowledge of him that you are willing and able to receive, that the eyes of your understanding would be open wired, and that you would be enlightened to who he is, that you may know what is the hope of his common, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in you, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards you, you believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him in his right hand in the heavenly places, that he would grant that you would be strengthened with might through his spirit in the inner man, and into your spirit in the heart, consistently walking in the spirit, so that you would be able to stand against the appetites of your flesh, the corrupted spirit of this world, and the devil and his demons, in into any enough fleshing desires and temptations. I pray that your love may have beencome more formal and discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be real about your Christianity and unoffendable until the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness, love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, which are by Jesus Christ of the Holy Spirit to the glory and praise of God. I ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will and all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him, being fruitful in every good work, strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints who walk by the Spirit and in the light. I pray that your hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love and unity, and that you would attain to all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which has been given to each of my listeners by Christ Jesus, that you are enriched in everything by him, in all utterance and all knowledge, so that you do not come short in obtaining or operating in your calling and purpose, nor in using any spiritual gifts or talents to perform mighty miracle signs and wonders, that we would do the greater works of Jesus yet to be accomplished, that we would be found eagerly waiting for the continued revelation of our Lord Jesus, who will confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the near coming of the day of our Lord, God is faithful by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus. Okay, so now therefore, my sisters and brothers in Christ, when things get tough, think about whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, whatever things are of good report. If there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things alone. I pray that in these very end of the end time days, that you would let your love be without hypocrisy. Show people your faith by your works and service and love. Hate and loathe what is evil, cling to what is good and righteous, be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor, giving preference to one another, not lagging in diligence, fervent and fully engulfed in spiritual fire, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, walking in the peace of God, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfast in prayer, distributing to the needs of the saints, that is each other, and that you would be given the hospitality. May the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like minded towards one another, according to Christ Jesus, that we learn to be of one mind and one accord, striving to get along no matter what disagreements we may encounter, operating completely and fully in love, always striving for the working out of God's specific will for each of our lives, while working in partnership with each other, within the church and the Holy Spirit, as he manifests his miracle signs and wonders through the daily activities of our ministry and kingdom work, and while we also go out preaching the gospel in the word and deed. Let us love and serve one another, our enemy and those who wouldn't expect us to do so, considering each person better than ourselves. Bind up any words or thoughts that are contrary to the love of God, or which would set you back in your Christian walk. Guard your hearts from anything that would hinder the growth of your character. Never forget that you can do all things in Christ, and never forget this means all things. Ah, step out in faith today and walk with God, and with each other, being assured that nothing will separate you from Him as long as you abide in Him. Call those things that don't exist as though they do. Remember the faith of God which we have created the universe by the Rama and Logos Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. All that you need for this life is invisible until you apply your faith to receive it, but make your request to God known without fear, doubting, or unbelief. Always remember, he that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. Be more than a conqueror today, submitting to the will of God and everything. Never forget that you can do all things through Christ who will strengthen you this very day. That each of us express uncompromising love towards one another in humility while maintaining a teachable spirit, seeking to grow no matter how much it challenges our current thinking. I pray that God will give you the revelation within this message that he intends you to receive with the understanding. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. To God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory in majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. The title of this message is Flee from the Wrath of God. Howboy that is hitting the non tribbers right upside the head, flee from the wrath of God which is unleashed during the seven year tribulation. Thessalonians nine, for God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans nine much more than, having now been justified by his blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through him Thessalonians ten, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. Saved from wrath doesn't mean we have to go through wrath in order to get saved from wrath, and this is what would happen if there were no rapture. Jesus went through the wrath of God and became our sin that we didn't have to, which means we would have to go through the rapture before the wrath of God begins. And the Bible supports this. Romans three twenty five states that God put Jesus forward as a propitiation or sacrifice of atonement by his blood demonstrating his righteousness. Second Corinthians five twenty one explains that God made Jesus who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Galatians three hundred thirteen states that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. So while this is not what I intended to be a part of this message, but there it is. It looks like it might be the message. So what does the following scripture imply to us or for us? Matthew three seven. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come into his baptism, he said to them, Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Let's find out why John the Baptizer asked this question. Brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Originally spoken by John the Baptist in Matthew three seven and similarly by Jesus in Matthew twelve thirty four and Matthew twenty three thirty three. This harsh phrase in the Greek translates literally to offspring of vipers. It was a stinging metaphor for hypocritical religious leaders warning that their poisonous, malicious teachings would result in divine judgment. Let's break down the sentence. Brood or offspring refers to descendants, children, or a brood. It implies that these individuals share the exact nature, characteristics, and traits of their parents. Vipers, this refers to a specific highly venomous snake native to the region. In ancient biblical and Jewish culture, snakes were direct symbols of deceit, evil, and the devil. Wrath, the Greek word for wrath or anger, in this biblical context, refers to God's impending ultimate judgment against sin and unrepentance on judgment day. In cultural context, a viper is famous for an ambush bite. By calling the Pharisees and the Sadducees a brood of vipers, Jesus and John were condemning their outward piety, revealing that underneath their holy garments, they were spiritually dead, deceptive, and full of the venom of malice. The follow up question, who warned you to flee, challenges them because they were trying to avoid God's judgment simply by showing up, without actually changing their hearts. Do we have any Christians like this today? Yes, and abundant yes. If your heart is not recognizably changed and witnessed by those who have known you for a while, then this scripture may be talking about you. But do not fear as you have time to change that by becoming transparent and authentic with God. Matthew twenty three thirty three Serpents, brood of vipers, how can you escape the condemnation of hell? Sure, why not also look up what Jesus stated when he said condemnation of hell? In Matthew twenty three, thirty three, Jesus says, How will you escape being condemned to hell? In the original Greek, this phrase literally translates to the judgment of Gehenna. This original Greek phrase unpacks in two specific meanings condemnation, judgment, which translates to a judicial verdict, a sentence or a decision. It does not simply mean damnation in the modern sense, but rather the consequences handed down by a divine judgment. Hell, which is Gehenna, rather than the general underworld, Jesus used the Greek word gehenna to evoke the valley of Henem outside Jerusalem. Historically, this valley was associated with idolatry, child sacrifice, and eventually used as a refuge dump where perpetual fires burn to consume the city's garbage. Jesus utilized this well known localized imagery as a powerful metaphor for the ultimate destruction, ruin, and spiritual ruin resulting from sin, and being a pretend, unchanging, not teachable Christian. In the context of Matthew twenty three, Jesus used this phrase to directly rebuke the religious leaders of the time, the Pharisees and the scribes, for their hypocrisy, warning them of the divine consequences of their actions. James three one, my brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. Still want to be a teacher? Then you shouldn't play with God or his sheep. You should know this one thing, which is just because you are operating in your calling fully anointed to do what you should be doing, but instead you were doing your own thing, that doesn't mean judgment won't ultimately come. Romans eleven twenty nine for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Okay, so let's define irrevocable so that we understand what it was intended to mean from the Word of God. In the original coin Greek, the English word irrevocable comes primarily from the word atamelitos. It literally means without regret, or not to be repented of. Here is a quick breakdown of its roots. A negative prefix means not metamelomia, a verb meaning to regret or to change one's mind. Therefore, when the term is used in ancient texts, it describes something that is done with such finality that it will never be regretted, taken back, or altered by a change of mind. A classic example is found in Romans eleven twenty nine, where it is used to describe God's unchanging, unregretted promise and calling. In looking at another example, let's look at what it means for believers to be practicing lawlessness, even though the anointing of God remains on their life. The Bible describes practicing lawlessness as a deliberate, habitual rebellion against God's moral standards and authority. It translates from the Greek word anomia, which means living as if there is no divine law. Scripture addresses this lifestyle through several key themes. Sin equals lawlessness. In first John three four, the Bible clearly states that anyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness. Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. A condition of the heart. It is not an accidental mistake, but a willful lifestyle of defiance where a person makes themselves their own ultimate authority. Keep in mind it states practice, which is more than a one time event, or it actually differentiates one who walks in repentance and calls daily on God for deliverance and for him to help them in their temptation, from those who make it a practice to sin without being willing to change. A warning from Jesus Deceptive eternal faith. In Matthew seven, twenty one through twenty three, Jesus warns that the people who perform spectacular religious deeds, but refuse to obey God's will are workers of lawlessness. He will tell them, I never knew you, depart from me. Matthew seven, twenty one through twenty three. Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and done many wonders in your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. By paying attention to this warning from God and responding in repentance, and being willing to be taught, then you are essentially fleeing from the wrath to come. Ultimate judgment in the parable of the weeds, Matthew thirteen forty one, Jesus explains that at the end of the age, angels will gather all who practice lawlessness and cast them into a fiery furnace. Matthew thirteen forty one assigns a penalty for those who harden their hearts and become unteachable. Now, and but something should be said about what unteachable looks like. You know that this is you if you are not changing and allowing yourself to be formed into the image of Christ. Let's look at those supporting scriptures. Matthew thirteen forty one. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness. The Bible states that believers are being transformed or conformed into the image of Christ. This lifelong spiritual transformation involves actively taking on the moral character, love, and likeness of Jesus Christ. Several key New Testament passages outline this concept. Romans eight twenty nine states that God predestined those he foreknew to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that Jesus would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Second Corinthians three eighteen explains that as believers behold the glory of the Lord, they are being transformed into the same image, from one degree of glory to another by the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul uses formation imagery when he tells the church he is in labor pains until Christ is formed in you. Let's look at specific details on what the character traits should look like that would confirm we are qualified to flee from the wrath that is to come. Character traits like love, humility, and patience that make up his image. The Bible defines the image of Christ through distinct moral and spiritual character traits. Believers develop these qualities as they grow to resemble Jesus. Sacrificial love, agape, loving others selflessly without expecting anything in return. Jesus commanded followers to love one another just as he loved them. Humility, submitting to God and serving others before oneself. Jesus demonstrated this by washing his disciples' feet and dying on the cross. Philippians two five through eight. Patience and forgiveness, enduring wrongdoing without retaliation. Christ modeled complete patience and forgave his executioners while on the cross Colossians three thirteen. Gentleness and lowliness, approaching people with kindness rather than with harsh force. Jesus described his own heart as gentle and lowly Matthew eleven twenty nine. Absolute obedience, aligning desires completely with God's will. Jesus perfectly submitted to the Father even when facing suffering. Luke twenty two forty two. The fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit produces these specific traits in a person's life to reflect Christ's character twenty two through twenty three. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. We are made in the original image of God and designed to be conformed into Christ's image Genesis twenty six through twenty seven. Then God said, Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. Let him have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. Genesis one This is a book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Genesis nine six Whoever shed man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God he made man. Keep in mind this was never intended to change, but when you receive salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, your process of sanctification will allow you to once again reflect the very image of God. It is our sinning that corrupts the image of God that we initially had. One of the helpful ways that we can become once again an undefiled image of God is to allow our minds to be changed, and then for us to respond to that changed mind. Romans twelve two and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may approve what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Okay, so back to lawlessness. In time culture, Jesus prophesied in Matthew twenty four twelve that leading up to his return, lawlessness will be increased, and the love of many will grow cold. Matthew twenty four twelve, and because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Okay, so I feel the need to continue to divine parts of these scriptures so that you really see the urgency of focus on and planning to flee from the wrath to come. By the way, for those who may be asking, the wrath of God begins after the last seal is opened, and then God releases through his angels the sound of trumpets, which is about less than ten years away. In Matthew twenty four twelve, Jesus prophesies, and because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. In the original Greek this point to a widespread societal rejection of God's moral standards, resulting in the spread of wickedness and a corresponding loss of sacrificial love. The original phrase breaks down as follows Lawlessness translated from the Greek word anomia, meaning without and nomus, meaning law. It signifies living without restraint, rebelling against moral order and ignoring God's principles. Will abound translates from pethino, which means to multiply, increase or erupt, indicates that evil and disobedience will become rampant and overwhelm society. This systemic moral decay is as a chilling spiritual environment. As lawless behavior becomes the norm, Jesus warns that the agape, selfish, unconditional love of many believers will begin to cool down, leading to increased selfishness and division. Do we have a verse that confirms the result of this so called cooling down? The Bible talks about the lukewarm church in the book of Revelation, specifically Revelation three, fourteen through twenty two. This message is addressed to the church in the ancient city of Laodicea, Revelation three, fourteen through twenty two, and to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish that you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Because you say I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed, and anoint your eyes with Isal, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him. With him and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will grant to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my father on his throne. The context and meaning, historical connection. Laodicea lacked its own water supply. It piped in hot water from nearby Heropolis springs, which turned lukewarm and foul tasting by a rival, and cold water from Colossia. Spiritual meaning. Hot water heals, and cold water refreshes. Lukewarm water is useless and causes sickness. Christ used this to describe a church that is spiritually indifferent, self-satisfied, and physically wealthy, but spiritually bankrupt, after the definition of lawlessness. The prophetic and spiritual meaning, the mystery of lawlessness. The Apostle Paul mentions in Second Thessalonians 2 7 that a hidden spiritual rebellion is already active in the world. Second Thessalonians 2 7. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains, that is the church, will do so until he is taken out of the way. Again, that is the church and speaks of the rapture. The ultimate antichrist. The rebellion will eventually culminate in a specific end times world leader known as the man of lawlessness, who will demand worship and place himself above God. Spiritual separation. In Second Corinthians 6.14, Paul asks, What partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? To show that a holy life cannot mix with an ungodly lifestyle. Second Corinthians 6.14. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness, and what communion has light with darkness? The remedy. So his followers can live righteous lives. Okay, I know that was a lot on lawlessness and quite a few other nuggets in between. But it is important to know how to flee from the wrath of God to come, which is to be changeable and humbly teachable. If these elements are not in you, then you will be going through the wrath of God, beginning in the seven year tribulation, which is less than a decade away. Now you might think that that's a long time, but consider that if a child is born today, they will not have enough time to really even enter into a relationship with God. Yes, there is this belief that there is an age of accountability, so I'm not saying that they will go to hell unless they fully understand what sin is and how it separates them from God, which will be few and far between. Most kids in these days will reflect their parents who are not chasing God. A good book to read is titled Doctrines of Demons from Angels of Light, written by R. T. Kendall. It will shock you as to how these end-time deceptions can overwhelm the church, and in fact they are already overwhelming the church. And those nominal believers who didn't take their Christianity serious. Yes, Jesus stated to those religious people who believe in God and knew the scriptures that they were available at their time, which tells me he simply loved them and desired that all men would be saved, including them. But they chose a different path because they didn't take Jesus serious. This is going to happen during these end-time days as well, but you don't have to let it happen to you. Let's close in prayer. May the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before your God and Father at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. Now may the God of peace, the one in whom we call wonderful, Counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, may He Himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. To our Lord of Lords and our King of Kings, to our high and lifted of great high priest, who has, once and for all, paid the price that you might see and hear God. May He hear and respond to our prayers. To our God we stand and pray, as He too always lives to make intercession for you while seated at the right hand of the Father. May the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do his will, working in you what is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ to whom we glory forever and ever. Now to him who is able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Well that's it for today. Remember it's not what you find wrong or disagree with regarding these messages, but what you can take away from them. Together we can do more to impact the kingdom than if we work alone. Let's flip the script and still kill and destroy the works of the enemy and create space for the light of life to shine through into people's lives.
